One day this past week I received a telephone call from a Savile Row firm -- one that has made for me previously -- soliciting my business. This is certainly a first for me ... as in the past I'd never received more than a card or letter announcing visits to the United States ... or changes to the firm.
What has me particularly perplexed is the fact that they called on a number (my private office line that forwards to my cell phone when traveling) that wouldn't have been available to them at the time I was their client.
Have any of you members received such a call recently? It has me wondering if it is a sign of difficult times on Savile Row.
