I've noticed a few of my shirts have small holes under the collar where the collar stay would stick out. It must be from when I turn down my collar with metal stays. Does anybody have a quick fix so that these holes don't get bigger?

Be more specific. Which end of the stay? If it's at the pointy end, uh oh. If at the other end, the stay's too long.

Or maybe not. Have you, with shirt off and stay in, placed the collar in wearing position, down, then lifted the collar a fraction and peeked to see if and where the stay's end was rubbing? Do. If the wear spot aligns with the stay end, try cutting a tiny (3/8 by 3/8) piece of thicker masking tape and press over spot. This is not a Duck Dynasty repair, its to stop the stay from further abraiding the cloth. Surprisingly, good tape will remain even thru the wash. If not, replace. Call me Heloise.
