I'm new to this board but have been lurking for a while learing a lot of new things.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any reliable tailors in the Syracuse, NY area. I have a pair of pants that need tailoring right now but am really looking for someone that I can go to for any suit tailoring needed in the future also.
While I'm on the topic, what type of questions or things do you look for when sizing up whether a tailor is "right" for you.
The only experience I've had with a tailor outside of the resident tailor where I've bought a suit was terrible. About 15 years ago, I spend (at that time) a large chunk of change on a beautiful pair or linen/wool trousers. I took them to a tailor for alterations, including cuffs. I didn't pay much attention since I assumed he was keeping track of the things I requested. When I got them back, they were too tight in the seat and no cuffs. By then there wasn't enough material left to redo the cuffs and he swore I never mentioned them.
