Suits made while in China

What a wealth of knowledge this forum presents to a newbie like me! I have learned so much from you all...

To get the point of this post though, most of my closet is Hickey Freeman, Ben Silver, and only God knows how many pairs of Bill's Khakis. In other words, I am comfortable shopping in the US, and the folks I buy from either have my measurements or I just buy off the rack sizes. I've had a few multi-fit customs made and love them very much.

My question is regarding Chinese tailoring. My girlfriend insists on bringing me back something from one of the tailors of China, but I am VERY unfamiliar with the process of having a suit made by a foreign man in a foreign land with only a list of my measurements. In fact, do I send her with my domestic mesurements, or do the Chinese have a different scheme from which they measure to determine the fit of the suit?

She'll be in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shenzhen over the course of her trip.

I'd like another navy chalkstripe, prefereably 3-button rolled to the second. Does anyone have any advice? In a perfect world, one of you guys might have the address of a good tailor, and he might have, dare I dream, a website with fabric swatches! I'm likely not so lucky!
