I am looking to buy a suit within the next month. I think $600 is the most I would like to spend. Reading through this forum, I find that fit is the priority. Within this goal, those who post advise to find a good shoulder fit. The length of the suit and length of the sleeves are easier to understand.
Can anyone else suggest what a good fit means.
Someone had written I should be able to raise my arms without the suit moving significantly.
I am also finding people suggesting side vents and flapless pockets.
And with respect to lapels, I am finding that people prefer peak lapels although this is more difficult to come by.
I am also confused about the use of the terms gorge and button stance. Could someone provide clear definitions of this and what is desired in a fit.
Any other important suggestions for a first time buyer would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
