Greetings,

I suppose this might not be the appropriate place to ask such a question, but I thought there may be anecdotes I could read if I asked this here.

I'm quite young, around twenty years of age. However, since about the age of thirteen, I have been very interested in suits and ties. Dare I say, I derived much pleasure from the act of wearing them. I do get turned on by dressing up, haha.

This often led to me trying on my father's formalwear in secret, while he was away. I used to feel guilty about this, but as it turns out, this is a phase many suit enthusiasts go through.

So I was wondering, have any of you had similar dress sessions? If your child did something like this, what would you think about it?

I suppose if I learned someone was sneaking around and wearing my clothing while I was away - let alone telling others about the experience - I'd hit the ignore button for them, too...

You are not wrong. I don't know how a person would be expected to react to it. That is why I am curious if anyone has faced a similar situation.

Minus the turned-on part, I can kind of relate, but in the opposite way.

I'm the clothes horse of the family, so I enjoy having my family members try on my overcoats. I find it fun to see how different we all look in them and give off different vibes. It's pretty much a styling session.

If I had a kid and I found them trying on my clothes, I'd be beaming. If they were interested in wearing the kind of clothes I'd wear, I'd love to share the knowledge.

You're not sure exactly how old you are?
I get it, I'm around 20 too, give or take a half dozen decades.

Before or after I slapped him silly? Serious now, I would think his behavior in trying on his dad's clothes was better than mine at his age which was trying to sell my dad's clothes

My apologies, English is not my first language. What I meant was that I recently turned twenty.

Definitely not doing anything that extreme though! I would think my actions were much more harmless.

I was kidding with you. And your English is much better than my Dutch which is completely nonexistent. Read the post from @delicious_scent above. I am somewhat in tune with that.

As a boy I wore a Red Sox cap and a Ted Williams jersey, famous American ball player and team, and find what you're doing, dressing somewhat out of context of your life, but in emulation of how you might like that life to one day be, not odd at all. And ideas often change with age. Good thing for me, since I've been in a batting slump for over 65 years.

I used to look in my dad's dresser drawers, not for clothes. I liked his Bulova watch. My dad wore polyester types of blazers. I never liked those. When we were young, my brother and I were dressed very well. My dad took us to the local Robert Hall, a clothing store back in the day. We wore suits. I remember a sharkskin suit that I wore to 8th grade. Sharkskin trousers were popular also. I also remember A1 racers. They we're popular trousers.
