I'm in love with these, save for the bow:

Any recommendations on an alternative in a similar style and similar color, with the traditional Belgian loafer mini tassle and not a bow?
As it happens, Herring is featuring loafers, and among them is their Barcelona II tassel model which comes in a variety of hides. I find the suede particularly nice, which while darker than what you picture, is still similar.

I think it a very handsome, quality tassel loafer, and the last appears quite similar to the shoe you depicted.

Indeed that tiny bow does come off as being a bit too precious. I purchased a pair of Belgian Loafers with the more common tiny tassels several years back and found that even wearing the loafers with the mini tassels came off as arguably too precious. The Belgian loafers never saw much wear time on my feet! But then, it has been said my ancestry is hillbilly. LOL. ;)

I’d recommend Steve at Gentleman’s Footwear if you want the snuff Alden’s. Great shop and he’s an immensely helpful fellow. He also stocks a lot of Edward Green shoes as well (just thought I’d mention that).

My LHS assemblage includes #8, Cigar and Whiskey shell cordovan pair(s). I thought I had scratched that itch. However, I must admit that snuff suede offering has me thinking, but they do not yet have a second in my size. :icon_scratch: :( ;)

yes, I forgot that, I mean the lhs are made in shell cordovans only and the suede offerings are a different model called the 6243F UPL. They're both made on the same lasts, nice looking shoes either way in suede or shell.

According to Alden Madison Avenue the suede versions are also leisure handsewn.

Now if they'll just put the old BB offerings of an unlined cordovan LHS and a cordovan tassel with a foxed heel back in play, the world will once again spin smoothly on its axis!
