Hi everyone,

this is my first post. I'd like to ask the community if you know the "Oak House" brand and especially their wax jacked that looks to me a lot like a Bedale. I found a second hand one at a good price and wondered if it's worth it. Here are a couple of pics.
Thanks!

Welcome Igor. To me a waxed jacket is a functional garment. The issue is whether this jacket will function as other waxed jackets do. If the answer is yes, then it could be a good purchase. From the date of the company on the tag, they seem to have been around for a while. Good luck if you decide to purcase it. I do not know the company name but that is not unusual for me. welcome to the forum. I have not heard of this company but from looking at the photo I would say it looks fine but could do with a re waxing if you want it to be water proof.

Good Luck.

Barbour at some point cornered the cultural market for waxed clothing, but when I was in the UK a couple times in the mid-1990s you could buy waxed jackets quite cheaply and in all sorts of stores. Sure, they weren't Barbour, they were lesser no-name brands, but they kept the rain off and had big pockets. Sort of like going to a farmer's co-op and buying cheap farm clothing. Even today, you can buy cheap waxed jackets from the UK that do the job for low prices, as long as you aren't fixated on the Barbour brand, top notch though their products are.
