There are occasions when I'd like to increase the warmth of my outfit without increasing bulk. I was wondering whether a long sleeve merino wool undershirt would be a good idea. I'd prefer something with a v-neck (since I rarely wear ties) and a light color (e.g., white). Does anyone know where I can find such a shirt?

Thanks. I actually did check them out prior to posting. They have a short sleeve v-neck, but the long sleeve shirts are all crew neck.

UniQlo offers a product called Heat Tech. It's not merino wool, but it may serve your purpose. Not sure if they offer a v-neck, but worth checking out.

In addition to the very good suggestions above, have you considered silk?

I am frequently outdoors in suits.
A light silk base layer from REI is my go-to for normal cold weather.
Next up is the lightest-weight Smartwool base layer, also from REI.
I don't think you can get either in a v-neck.
