I've got a very ancient corduroy jacket that I recently 'refurbished' in order to give it a few more years of life. This included getting leather patches on the elbows, as years of leaning in pools of beer on bars had worn them almost through.
However, my lady friend says she doesn't like them, and you certainly don't see them as much as you did in my childhood (70s/80s).
I know that patches on new jackets are unutterably naff - but always assumed they were acceptable on ancient cords/tweeds. Any thoughts?
