Can anyone recommend a tailor in NYC that they used or would recommend to shorten jacket sleeves from the shoulders (Due to the button holes)? I have read through most of the tailoring recommendation threads but this alteration needs a real expert. Brooklyn is actually better. I know about Ercoles . He seems to be very good with his own custom clothing but I experienced a butcher job and I have heard from others that he does not put to much effort into tailoring OTR garments.

Re-Setting Sleeves
Why don't you return the coat? Whoever measured you did a lousy job of making sure the sleeve length was correct before putting functional button holes on the garment. If this is a garment that came with functional button holes, have the store you bought it from send it back to the manufacturer to re-set the sleeve. No one will do this difficult operation better than the company that made it.
