A completely unexpected surprise gift from super girlfriend came yesterday.

It is a J.Press Shaggy Dog cardigan in dark grey. The color is more nuanced than it appears in the first two pictures (six-year-old cellphone, ninety-year-old mirror). I tried to capture some of that subtlety in the last two pics.

It is an incredible item: heavy, well made and singular in appearance. (Note, when I bought my first Shaggy Dog a year or two ago, Press advised me to size down one from my usual size, which was spot on advice.)

I found myself in need of some Formal Wear upgrades. I found some Castangia Pants in Black & Kiton Pants in Navy. For non formal attire I found a nice pair of Navy Ravazzolo Pants & some Lardini microfibers. Some much needed wardrobe rejuvenations! All items either in route or at the Tailors. Sorry, no pics.

I wanted a "dressier" sweater than my Shetlands so I bought a merino wool in Bordeaux. I'd heard good things about Alan Paine, and I'm pleased with the garment. Very soft; it will be nice to wear (hopefully soon).

PSA - If anyone ever wants to buy from Alan Paine, make sure you do it on the UK site. Originally I got onto their US site and they wanted $175. When I got on the UK site it was £100 (~$139). Toss in a 10% coupon and it was reasonable.

Well, so far this month, I've only ordered one of those North Sea Sweaters and a pair of tweed trousers from Peter Christian. Neither has yet arrived and I have no other experience with either seller. We'll see how it goes...

I suspect Mrs Eagle may be getting a little overwhelmed by my burgeoning collection of vented fishing shirts, as within the past 60 days or so, she has gifted me with two new Tori Richards Hawaiian shirts and a couple of those iconic bowling shirts lionized by Charlei Sheen in the TV comedy Two and A Half Men. LOL, she may be overlooking the very real convenience of all those pockets showcased on the vented fishing shirts. Just saying......;)

Ahh . . . . but you can't beat Tori Richard shirts for comfort! :pirate:

(As I sit here in one one this surprisingly sultry 90 degree heat index day in mid September.)

A couple shirts, both too slim on me. Polo RL that can't really be a medium, and a Penquin Munsingwear that is also slim. Both may go to my Niece's Son. Today a Brown tween is expected today. fingers crossed..
