I was hoping for guidance on this. I'm want to replace my seersucker sportcoat this Summer. I've been looking for a few weeks, and have it narrowed down to a dedicated sportcoat from Brooks and full suit from Haspel. Both are 2-button, darted, without any sporty details, like topstitcing or patch pockets.
I'm considering buying the suit and mainly wearing the coat on its own. I wouldn't normally wear a suit coat as a sportcoat, but I can't see how it would make a difference in this case. The Brooks sportcoat looks identical to the coat that comes with their seersucker suit. You don't seem to see much seersucker here in Chicago, so I'm not really sure of the conventions.
