i just received two pairs of braces from Albert Thurston. They are fine looking for sure, but upon opening both packages, I discovered that the white leather tabs had scuff marks on them. While they are not really noticeable, I would like to remove them without ruining the leather. Any suggestions?

The last time I had an issue with leather of this sort was for my wife's purse which cost a small fortune. I used a generic leather cleaner and it worked pretty well. Whatever you use, make sure you look at the instructions for use to ensure it will not damage the item.

First, remember that advice on the internet about what to wear when and with what could quite possibly come from people with limited actual knowledge or experience, and the fact that they give such advice despite the fact that you asked a completely different question casts some doubt on their judgment and discretion.

I’ve used an eraser to smooth some scuffs on light colored leather that couldn’t be covered over with polish.

That's true and amusing too. Considering one's braces shouldn't typically show what difference does it make regarding the color! And then practicality raises it's head and one realizes those colors may be a bit tough to match. The pastel green probably would look quite nice with a summer suit.
