Are your eyes blue?

Just kidding! You have several options, the way I see it: a) Go on eBay and look for a nice vintage set. b) Go to the Jewelry Exchange in Woodland Hills CA, which has a stunning octagonal pavee pair with diamond surround, except I'll kill you if you buy them out from under me (although, since they made them there, I can get another pair made.) c) Look for ladies' sapphire pendants in simple geometric design and have links made from them. I did that, and they came out very well, especially since my jeweler found nifty white gold backings for them. d) Design some yourself and have them made up. Sapphires are not that costly, especially if you use small, flat stones fitted together "pavee." Rectangular or square-cut look fairly masculine in a plain geometric frame. Be aware, though, that there are man-made stones out there that look pretty much like the real thing, although I suppose they would do if you're not too particular about that.

Remember, sapphires come in different colors (here's a yellow gold pair with yellow "princess (square) cut" sapphires at a "sale price" of $3,725: https://www.jewelbasket.com/jbly725y.html Oh, and did I tell you that you could spend a lot at this? Designing your own, if you can find a good wholesale custom jewelry maker, or copping ladies' pendants could be less.

cufflinks

I would definitely go the ebay route if you're looking for sapphire or maybe call a couple of local jewelers. Most online shops, wont carry something affordable. Ebay is probably your best bet though!

Hey guys, am a fan of blue and just starting to wear French cuff shirts.
Am in the market for sapphire cufflinks. Any recommendations?

Most of my cufflinks are antique, I prefer them. I find both the styles and workmanship to be generally superior to contemporary versions. E-bay usually has about 200 antique/vintage cufflinks available at any time. A few weeks ago, they had a fantastic set that were sapphire and diamonds. No, not gaudy, they were wonderful. ;)

I bought a pair of sterling silver and synthetic sapphire links . . .

. . . a couple of years ago, through a trunk show for Deakin & Francis of Birmingham, UK.

(Synthetic sapphires, BTW, are chemically corundums, simply manufactured rather than mined.)

The links are turned double bars, with sapphire cabochons on the ends of the bars, and, through the trunk show, cost me about $240, through a jeweler on Wall St. called DeNatale. (I believe they have a website.)

Conversely, you can see what Longmire has to offer in the very real (and blindingly expensive) mined sapphires - www.longmire.co.uk, I believe.

Just a general recommendation: Smaller ones are going to look a lot less showy than larger ones. I think the larger gemstone cufflinks look ridiculous.
Agreed. All excessively large cufflinks are unfortunate.

"Well, Flanderian, what is excessively large?" Asks the little voice in my head. To which I respond, "Why it's anything larger than perhaps 1/2" to 3/4"!"
