Posted on this a few minutes ago on SF, but I just learned that the A-E Cabazon outlet at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets is closing on April 23!

I'm just glad I'm well stocked with A-Es. I have a lot of fond memories of that place!

Oh no! I would think that brand at that location would be doing very well.
Maybe it's a privately owned store.
We had only one Allen Edmonds store in the Twin Cities and it was privately owned.
The owner had been in Edina, MN since the early 70s.
He was retiring and wanted to sell his store but couldn't get the price he wanted. So he closed it in 2006.
Too bad because it was a very nice place. And much more pleasant to visit than a major retailer.

I was in the store yesterday and can confirm it is a company-owned store and that yes, it's closing. It's very sad. They were having the regular sale.

Does anyone have any experience with their local Allen Edmonds store closing down? Will the company absorb the stock or will they have a blow-out sale at the end. Am contemplating some expensive Macneil shells and it will kill me if they deep-discount them in a few months. Not the kind of shoes that run out the door there I suspect.

I remember the day I found out that my local AE factory store was closing (Madison, WI). So I drown out my sorrow by buying 4 pairs of shoes. There is one in Brookfield which is halfway between home and school, so I could only imagine the sorrow if it was the only one for a large distance.
