Rome What to do

Like the title states, what should i do. I want to get a pair of shoes possibly and other than that i am open. My guest is celebrating her bday on monday and so i would like to do something special, perhaps an operah and maybe dinner. Any recommmendations on sites, shopping, restuarants etc....
