You should match your socks to your trousers.
Really!?
This line of thought was provoked by the pleasure I experienced today when glancing down at my ankles clad in brick-red Donegal, alpca/wool tweed socks beneath widewale corduroy trousers in dark olive and atop dark brown suede chukkas. The color of the socks is roughly repeated in the overcheck on my sage colored glenplaid flannel shirt. Lacking both the required gear and concomitant know-how to depict this, I turn instead below to the always tasteful but equally scintillating blogger, Cleav31, for examples of the possibilities.
Does this mean that one shouldn't match socks to trousers if you've a mind? Of course not! Just that there's a world of possibility depending upon the occasion and your personal preferences.
