The thread on Prince or Wales stlyle, reminded me of a separate subject, that doesn't belong in that thread.
The Duke of Windsor is the source of much in the world of style that is now the common wisdom, such as suede shoes, trouser cuffs, etc.
He was also short, and decreed, that the long end of a tie should not extent much below the belt buckle. If you look at his pictures, you will notice that he solved the problem by making the end that is normally short quite long and tucking it into his trousers.
Looks a bit strange on a guy with unlimited time and resources.
There may be a better solution, but the only thing that I have found was to get a 57" tie shortened by a tailor to 54".
To most of you over 5'8" this isn't a problem. If there is a better solution, it would be good news.
