Hello folks!
Can anyone suggest me a good pair of steel toed boots that don't make my feet smell? I've had a pair of boots for a few years, they are still in great nick and they are comfortable. Can anyone recommend a pair of breathable and comfy boots that will perhaps not make my feet stink? If they look smart it would be a great plus.

I'm considering some options on [link removed] and some of them look great, but I want to hear some real recommendations

With all respect, this is a fashion forum. The Ariat boots are the closest thing to a fashion statement so I pick those. But to the point, boots don't make your feet stink - your feet make your boots stink. Foot care would probably be more important to cut down on moisture than an airy boot.

It's a legitimate question. However Mr. JBierly is correct, it's your feet that are the trouble.

People who walk the Camino (a religious pilgrimage in Spain which is roughly 800km long) claim that the right boot cuts down on foot sweat which cuts down on blisters and such. Every person has different feet and body odour. Might I suggest higher quality socks, maybe something with some merino wool in them? If you are wearing the cheapest socks you can find, you might have more odor issues. Also, consider your foot care routine. Maybe you need to use some foot powder or regular treatments of specialized soap or salts.

My work boots are a moderately priced pair of Justin’s ropers, steeltoe, electrical hazard, puncture proof etc. The thicker the linings, the more sweat. They’re a comfortable boot and made fairly well for their application. I beat the hell out of mine, from standing on swaged aircraft fasteners (sheared titanium about as sharp as razors) all day, working on industrial steel tooling platforms, heavy saltwater when surf fishing etc. They have held up amazingly going on 4 years of regular use, not every day but..

One thing to consider is how much walking you will be doing in them, because they will get annoyingly heavy, which is why I typically only wear them on specific aircraft build days. My next pair will be a simple carbon toe, steel/carbon shank sneaker since I do walk several miles at work every day, in addition to countless trips up the stairs of the tooling. In short, lots of time on your feet and minimal movement, nicer look?: a nice roper. Lots of walking and stairs? Carbon toe shoe/sneaker.

Wesco makes some of the finest steel toed work boots, available for purchase. They may cost a bit more, but are worth every penny.

I owned the pair linked in the bottom of this entry. They wore well. Very comfortable, not too thick, but quite warm in winter. I worked in Southwest Louisiana for 12 years (still live there, but spend most of my work time traveling out of state) and I've come to love Gold Bond in the blue container (maximum strength). I use it LIBERALLY. The spray is alright, but the powder can't be beat-feet stay dry, smell better and feel as though air conditioning is blowing straight on your them. I also use it in my nether-regions-THAT is an acquired feeling. Lord have mercy.

I’m surprised that nobody has suggested having at least two pairs and not wearing any pair two days in a row.
Letting them fully dry and air out will help a lot — probably much more than the difference between brands.

I have always had great luck with both Georgia Boot and Danner for my steel toe work boots. I started with Danners and found that I could essentially get the Georgias for almost half the price through the boot truck that came around my work once a year when I worked for a Union manufacturing facility when I was in college.
