I'm thinking of having a couple of pairs of shoes refurbished (or at the very least resoled) and was curious to know if it was possible to reform the shoe over a different last? I'm not sure of the maker but do know that the soles are welt constructed. I am aware that certain manufacturers like Allen Edmonds, Alden, select English makers, etc. have refurbishing for their products. I wonder if this is possible, will it throw off the whole balance of the shoe and to what degree the shape can be altered. I initially planned on going to a local cobbler but am rethinking my decision. Any opinions would be appreciated.
