This is coming to London very soon. I like their fabrics very much but does anyone know how much one can specify? I am thinking of size of armhole. I like the arm hole to be high but otherwise I love the easy RL fit and shoulder.

How much have people specified AND received to their satisfaction?

I too love the fabrics that RL usually offers.

Unfortunately, in my experience, MTM at RL is a bit of a misnomer. It usually means simply getting to choose a particular fabric in a particular model (e.g. a Polo IV instead of a Polo II, or using a fabric from the swatch box that isn't being used otherwise this season). My suspicion is that they wouldn't be able to accommodate changes like you mentioned (armholes), though I'd be interested if anybody else has gotten them to do special things. (I also don't know how this works with RLPL, that is, if they would be more accommodating.)

Ralph Lauren’s London flagship store in Bond Street is having a Made to order/measure promotion during the month of September.
(If I remember correctly, the dates are Saturday September 6th, to October 5th).

If previous events are to go by, they drop the price-premium for one-offs and have also representatives from their suppliers present.
(I remember the Edward Green people, but I presume, other manufacturers will also be visiting the store).

That might be an opportunity to discuss your requirements and see what changes and alterations they can and will do.
But I agree with ‘silk‘, it’s more likely to be made-to-order with certain alterations, than a fully-fledged made-to-measure (almost bespoke) service.

I actually looked into this myself about 2-3 years ago. I asked specifically about ability to raise the armhole because that had been my main fit issue with the Polo silhoutte at that time. Believe it or not, I actually received inconsistent answers from the 3 different representatives I had asked at 3 different times. I must admit, the fact that the answers were so inconsistent and that even the one that said they could do it wasn't necessarily very firm with the answer (leading me to believe they possibly didn't know exactly what it would entail) certainly undermined my confidence in their ability to do it or not - I ended up pursuing other options.
