For anyone who may be interested, this airs tonight @ 9pm EST.

I'm rather curious and will watch.
Please let us know what you think? I've read and seen so much about Ralph over the last three decades (he gets a lot of - or used to - local coverage in additional to the national), that I'm kinda burned out on the Ralph story, so I'll only watch if you say it's worth it.

Well, I started watching it and fell asleep. Haha.

I did record it though so will watch it at a better time.

I did catch the segment about the Mansion on Madison ave. He was disheartened about how the merchandise was being displayed. So he converted the mansion into what it is now. At first the retailers were upset because they thought it would take business away from them, but in the end it boosted sales.

FWIW - Alan Flusser's website just sent me an e-mail advertising another new(?) book by Mr. Flusser purporting to be an illustrated biography of Ralph Lauren's "life and work." The timing could hardly be accidental. I've enjoyed many of Mr. Flusser's books but am obligated to suspect it will likely be long on illustrations, and skimpy on new information. Alan will send you an autographed copy for $50.

So after that disparagement, I am still likely gaffed, and will line up with a $50 bill in my hot, sweaty paws despite the anticipated paucity of any new information or exhaustive treatment. Yes, I can be had!

How much for a copy without the autograph?

Was 1999 the year that the tailored garments switched to being made in Italy by Corneliani?

Was there any press about it at the time?

I think the Corneliani garments were very well made and fit me very well also. Definitely an uptick from the USA made ones, especially the wool trousers which I always had issues with.

I'd also like to know who made RL's dress shirts in the 80's when they were USA made ($85.00 at Saks in Sept. 1984) and made of incredibly high quality cotton. Same question for the suits, trousers and sport-coats. I'd like to know who made them and where from the date of the first collection to the date the manufacturing moved to Corneliani.

I'd also like to know the date of the first mens' collection: suits, wool trousers and sportcoats.
