This may seem like a strange question, but is there a minimum height requirement that tailors (or for that matter, any bespoke or made to measure clothing and shoe maker) has to serve a potential client? I would think that those under 5' can't be served because there's not enough, for lack of a better word, girth to make something for them.

I would think that somebody under 5' would be better served by buying children's clothing because of their minimal girth. Perhaps somebody on this board that knows more about tailoring (like Andy or Matt S.) can provide some insight on this subject?

Everything is based on proportion. If it is custom-made, the tailor can scale down fairly easily if deemed possible.

For vertically-challenged folks, they can buy children clothes or the smallest chest of 34. Height of the subbject should not be an issue.

Even for the extreme case where a 5' tall tailor working on a 7' tall NBA player, a small stool will help tremendously with little trouble. There should be no minimum height requirement for tailor or the subject.
