Just got a nice email from Hertling about a sale that includes, as you would expect, trousers, but also offers MIUSA oxfords at a price that is staggeringly good.
Well, I suppose they would be ok with ties if your neck size matched up with your sport shirt size very closely, but I agree the points looked shorter than most on this forum would prefer.Thank you for the PSA! I have been looking for some good navy wool trousers, and Hertling is top notch.
I was excited about the prospect of the OCBDs, but it looks like the collars points are pretty short. They are sport shirt model so perhaps not meant for ties?
Just got delivered the shirt from Hertling. All good. Only problem is that I ordered a pink/white stripe and they shipped a pink although the shipping info clearly states pink/white. Not all bad. I did not have a pink OCBD and now I do. This one is almost surely made in the Garland plant in NC. Same fabric as a yellow BB full fit that I recently bought also on steep discount. I judge the Large to be a 16.5/34 so if I decide to wear a tie it will work. It IS a bit more tailored than the full fit BB model but still a good fit. Not sure I'll order another pink/white stripe or complain as I do not need another pink now.Just ordered a pink and white in large. I'll post observations when it arrives. Since I hardly wear a tie any more, and have plenty of shirts that do button correctly with a tie, this will be great to wear with a sweater vest and jacket.
Just got my pink shirt and recalled your post re: collar points. The collars are almost exactly like the BB points that are hanging in my closet. Certainly not shortys like some out there these days. LIkely a regent fit and the L is almost exactly a 16.5/34.Thank you for the PSA! I have been looking for some good navy wool trousers, and Hertling is top notch.

TKI, being retired and already having 4 BB OCBD and 4 BB pinpoint that I have not had the need to wear since late January due to this virus mess and turning 73 later this week, I think I'll just accept the pink as Karma and let it go at that. Lets get this mess over and I'll surely pay full price for a pink/white if the need arrises then. Cheers, TomHaving both pink and pink and white OCBDs is ok by me. It is almost a versatile as blue with an added measure of panache. I love either with olive chinos, with khaki shorts, with a grey herringbone and a challis or foulard tie, or with a blazer and my new English setter club emblematic tie from Chipp. Good news about the points!
I like your common sense. I recently used Noom to lose some weight. Now my wardrobe would fit in my duffel bag. I am 71, as I recall, and I have five OCBDs and no pinpoints or other dress shirts. It's plenty. In fact it is more than I need! Hand sanitizer, antibacterial soap, eye protection, a face mask, latex gloves....and now a Koozie are essential elements of our Pandemic Survival kit. Sounds like it's time to update my kit? LOL.That is great to hear. Thanks for reporting back. I am tempted to get one as well.
I got my trousers today. They came with a great looking cloth mask and a koozie. No better accessories for a pandemic!
