Some in a drawer, some loosely folded in shoeboxes.

I also have some white, cotton squares (my usual choice) which I have painstakingly folded so that they fit the pocket of this or that coat perfectly (folded to just the right width and depth, in other words). Those I tend to leave folded and store in an inside breast pocket of the appropriate jacket. Saves a lot of time. I know there's a rule about never storing anything in a jacket pocket, but a p.s. is so light and thin I've never had a problem.

Jammed . . .

. . . in a drawer with handkerchiefs, wallets, bow ties, you name it. I always iron them flat before wearing, so I don't really care how rumpled they get. Silk is pretty tough, and moths aren't interested, so there's really no need to be all that careful.

I store mine folded in four. Rolled just doesn't seem to work well - seems to take up a lot of space and tends to get weird wrinkle lines.

If I had the space, I'd lay them flat without folding.
