So, my "dream job" has come up and is about 30 minutes from my driveway, at that. The position is the Director of Security, Safety and Emergency Preparedness for a reputable foundation.
My dream job was to work at Hodges Gardens ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hodges_Gardens_State_Park ) in any capacity. Since the park closed permanently 2 years ago, that dream ended. Or so I thought.
The last 8 years of my career have been in safety and security of the heavy industries. My love for the arts (of which I have a degree) and philanthropy have aided in building this dream job.
To curtail things, I'll state simply that my professional wardrobe for the past 15 years has been fire retardant clothing, steel toe boots and a hard hat. While I have a collection of button downs and sport coats, I don't own many pants (that fit) appropriate for what I may consider to be a standard interview. This is a senior-level position and one I'd like to retire within. I'm 38 and am thinking I have 25-30 years left in the workforce. It's also for an arts and humanities foundation.
What is the suggested attire for an interview? There should be a video (Zoom) interview before the face-to-face.
Thank you all in advance for your feedback.

If you're resume fits (from your OP that would seem to be the case), then what you wear, within reason, should be entirely ancillary. So keep it neat and non-obtrusive, and focus on your qualifications and, if it means that much to you, i'd suggest making up a list of questions you're likely to expect, and practice with someone who could give you constructive feedback. Especially in this weird distanced time, anything you can do (smooth and clear answers, no tech glitches) to make it easy for them to hire you, the better. There's also a whole industry in setting up a video background and video lighting that you may consider before the interview. Most all of them can be done for free/little expense, and IMO it's well worth it if you're already thinking what to wear.
