Maybe I lead a sheltered life but until today I have never seen polyester corduroy pants. I was looking for casual winter wear and came across them. Is there anyone, maybe in colder states, that can give me the inside info on them? I assume they are warmer than regular corduroy but will I shed sparks like a Tesla coil when I walk? Will they actually hold up? If you have tried them give me the inside scoop!

I've never seen all polyester corduroy, but I had a couple pair once that were either 10% or 20%. The fabric was surprisingly good. Very nice hand, dense and wore well. I've seen small amounts of other fibers used also, such as nylon and spandex, and it apparently only improves corduroy in very small percentages. But I don't know that I would care for all polyester, I think it might not have desireable properties.

It does have me perplexed that I have never seen it before. It sounds like a great idea since they are easy to care for and warm but there has to be a down side. Of course just being polyester is a serious negative in and of itself but I do confess I have several pair of haggar pants and find I can endure them. I may have to be the test subject and see if they have a place in the grand scheme of things.

I have seen blends only. I would never assume that poly is warmer than cotton. I do not think poly has any warming qualities, just the opposite. I think fleece is one of the least understood and one of the poorest insulators on the market today. Wool is by far better, and cotton in the proper thickness in my opinion will be better. I like 100% cotton cords.
