Hello, again.

I would like to get a few pocket squares to wear in casual dress scenarios (navy cotton or wool blazer, perhaps a tweed sport jacket, chinos, dress shirt, no tie, etc.). It seems that silk would be too formal in this case.

In addition to silk, Tiebar has a bunch of simple white pocket squares with a colored border in both linen and cotton. Between linen and cotton, is one more appropriate for my use case, or is it really just personal preference?

Thanks.

Silk pocket squares actually work quite well with tweed, due to the textural contrast. I also have a few of the white linen squares with colored borders from the Tie Bar that you mentioned. I wear those with summer weight blazers but they're quite versatile.

Agree with this. Too much overthinking in the forum culture: I have squares in silk (most of them), cotton, linen and wool. I am guided more by the overall effect of the square in the ensemble than by the material. I've said it before and I'll say it again, "If it looks good, wear it!"

I NEED A POCKET SQUARE, IT SEEMS
(Sung to the tune of Bing Crosby's 1938 hit, "I've Got a Pocketful of Dreams")

Got to stand up straight
Since I want to look first-rate.
Wait--I need a pocket square, it seems.

Want to post a pic
And my phone's about to "click."
Wait--I need a pocket square, it seems.

My outfit's missing that sweet something--
A small touch of savoir faire.
A visual treat to really make it complete--
And show I care.

Dapper, dapper me.
I've made a discovery:
Oh, I need a pocket square, it seems.

Can't let you guys down.
Wouldn't want you guys to frown.
Oh, I need a pocket square, it seems.

Here's a paisley print
With a golden sunset tint.
Oh, I need a pocket square, it seems.

It pairs perfectly with my necktie.
A match? No, a complement.
Fold it up like so and now I'm good to go:
A perfect gent.

Dapper, dapper me.
