I've been on an obsessive binge lately over patchwork coats. They feel like a fine intersection between classic clothing, streetwear, and ivy, which is a sentence I didn't think I'd ever type.

These all feel really fun, yet tasteful, and not into flashy "Go To Hell" territory.

Patchwork isn't exactly new either, Chipp started it in the '60s if I recall correctly.

Awesome coats! I particularly like the very first, and the very last in the set. I would wear one of these in a heart beat.
Agreed. So much so, that I have the dusty grey/brown hanging in my closet!

It's a really nice coat for fall/spring, I can't wait to wear it once going out becomes normalized again.

It's not a true patchwork, but a printed corduroy.

The details I enjoy even more: it has a functional throat latch that's completely hidden underneath the collar. The hand warmer pockets have a zipper on the interior to transform them into "through" pockets, so you can reach into your pants if necessary, while keeping the coat buttoned.

The last coat in the set is a true patchwork of tweed fabrics from Ralph Lauren that's currently sold out.

We did start Patchwork - but we never made coats. We cut up madras and our tailors sewed the squares together at night in their homes. We then made sports jackets, trousers ,swim trunks and shorts.
At first we only had enough cloth to make a few jackets. Then they stared producing the patch madras in India.

Thanks for the clarification Paul.

Do you happen to have pictures of the sports jackets in patchwork? I'd love to see them if you do.

A few years after we started a number of makers joined the club. After the patch madras we did tweed and then cashmere.
We had our stock jackets made by Linett. Brooks 346 jackets were made by Linett. They had a range of patch Madras made by Linett. We had about 50, which was a lot of one jacket for Chipp. We sold out in a few weeks. Brooks couldn't sell their stock. In the sill of the night - it was about 9:00 PM , in those days everyone closed at 6:00 - we went across the street and carried all the Brooks jackets to our shop.
After changing the labels we sold them all.
