Pants press

I am thinking of buying a pants press.

I have seen Corby mentioned on this forum, but is it any good?
Can any pants press give me a really good press, or at last help me maintain one?

Thank you

Dear Sir

May I recommend three particularly informative forum threads on trouser presses. I hope they are informative.

I only wish I could provide a more personal opinion of my own. But I have never been fortunate enough to own a press myself!

All MTM suit, and no trouser press... as they say! :icon_smile_wink:

You may confidently purchase the Corby.

The Corby will maintain a crease as well as get rid of the wrinkles acquired during the day, for example, those behind the knees. The Corby will not "give a good press" but it will enable you to maintaqin one.
Quick question on the pants press and I thought I'd add it here rather than start a new thread. I just bought a cheap press from Bed Bath and Beyond for like 60 bucks, just to try it out to see if I liked it (I've gotten tired of getting my suits/pants dry cleaned just b/c the crease has worn away). My question is, do you guys clean the pants before pressing with a cloth brush? I'm just wondering if pressing it will "press" any dirt or dust into the fabric.

I guess a secondary question.....I've never owned a brush before and I was thinking of buying either one from Kent's ebay site (which I've read that Kent has a strong following on AAAC) or the one from Jos Bank (links below). Are both decent or is the Kent really that much better? Thanks in advance!

My thread is back!

It is nice to see that my thread, started four years ago, now is up and going again.

I must add that I bought the Corby several years ago and I am still very pleased with it.

Weird, I didn't scroll up to see when the first post was made (I actually searched and this was one of the first threads to come up and I saw replies in 09 and thought good enough). But did your question really get answered 4 years later? Is that how long I need to wait for an answer to my question? :aportnoy:

I'm also surprised that in four years he's only made eight posts...

Perhaps he was waiting for an answer before he posted any more questions.
I am sorry that I don't participate more.... I know that a forum like this is dependent on having active users, but I really find it fascinating just reading the posts.

check Bed Bath & Beyond. They had one for $69 in Dec. Not sure if any are still around.
