Its certainly not very traditional, but i like it, and would wear it, but I'm free to dress more creatively at my job. In fact, I have a similar suit, a navy Hugo Boss Chalk Stripe. Thats a bit more traditional than this one though, but certainly cool looking...I like the ticket pocket and the double vents...and the bright lining. Maybe a nice fat tie and some bright white sneakers would give it that "creative" look I try for at times.

Definitely social - not business at all. I am curious though, is there a difference between Oxxford and Oxxford Crest? Is it a lower line? A higher line?

I do notice on that particular one the stripes don't match up well on the breast pocket and with such bold colors it seems obvious to me.

It looks like a Gomez Addams suit if he wore sacks.

... I kinda like it.

Too flashy for me too. Are those red stitches only one one sleeve? If so, that seems rather strange.

Cheers, Jim.
Almost certainly a custom job to distinguish the wearer (as if the chalk-stripe suit wasn't unusual enough). Sounds like an interesting touch, but red might be a little OTT. Something subdued like a lighter blue or purple would work for me.

Seems like an odd touch to me. Maybe he needed that touch to tell his right from his left.

Cheers, Jim.

The red stitching on the one cuff is the most tasteless part of it. The beaded chalkstripe is a bit too thick for a black suit. I don't know if this is the correct way to say it, but the stripe appears to be 3 warp yarns thick. However, I think it would be much nicer at 2 yarns thick. A think pinstripe would also work. A stripe this thick I think would look great on a medium to light grey, but a thinner chalkstripe or pinstripe is needed on a dark suit to avoid the gangster look.

I have a DB suit - not remotely as fine a quality (though it fits me better than it has any right to!) - with a similar looking fabric. I wouldn't wear this because it's SB not DB. IMO you have to go all the way - DB or not at all.

The thing is that it's a whole suit, not just a coat.
