didn't see this specific issue addressed on the forum yet:

has anyone here ever over-brushed a suede shoe.
I think I might have. There is a tiny slice of lighter under-color on the shoe where it appears some of the brown nap might have lifted off.

good grief.
how do i avoid this, considering they make metal bristle brushes for this very purpose!? Aren't they meant to be abrasive, after all?

well, the problem started when there was a flash snow storm, and salting ensued. the result was the ol' north east salty-shoe...
cleaning and brushing got the stain out, but I am now left with this problem.

its not noticeable to anyone but me I'm sure, but I just hope the slice doesn't grow resulting in a split. my poor new shoes.

as you put it turkey, a lighter brush might be an order from here.
