As a soon-to-be law school grad about to begin work at a business-attire law firm, I have found this board particularly helpful and interesting since I discovered it a few weeks ago. So first, thank you to everyone.
I've built up a suit, shirt and tie collection (with suits ranging from Jos. Banks to Joseph Abboud to Hickey) sufficient to get me started, but one thing I still need is outerwear--something to get me through rainy days in the summer and through the cold winter.
Instead of buying both a wool/cashmere overcoat and a trenchcoat and having to skimp on both, I was thinking about getting a trenchcoat with a zip/button-out lining sufficient for year-round wear. That way, I could afford something really nice. Any thoughts on that plan?
Also, with regard to the trench, what should I look for? What brands are best? Anywhere to find good deals on those?

--Note: I saw a thread from february of this year regarding trench coats, but when I pulled it up, it only showed the first post.
