Not sure if it is just a Trad aversion but I've never really followed the no striped odd pants look. These were not part of a suit. I like the fit and the fine wool, but of course became a bit self-conscious.
I say nay. They are suit trousers, even if there is no matching jacket, because they are made of suiting. I think they'd clash with any jacket, but they'd go decently well with knitwear.
You could wear them with a contrasting vest. Grey perhaps and a tie and you would just look like you were wearing a suit without the jacket. I don't know that it's a bad look if you aren't going anyplace that requires a coat, anyway. I frequently don't wear a suit jacket around the house or office and I seem to get away with it...
