Just the ticket for an evening in front of the fire with a glass of brandy and either a good book or your favorite radio station.

It hasn't arrived (might come today) but I ordered a corduroy jacket from J. Press. I have hopes.

Good looking and performing sweater. I have heard nothing negative about North Sea Clothing.

That ought to be in your rotation for years to come.
Thank you. It's about my fifth NS sweater (in about ten years) and, as you note, like others, I have nothing but great things to say about the sweater and the company.

Could not agree more. That's the plan.

I love that sport coat - saw it in the catalogue. Can't wait to see yours.

I'm not much for used shoes so most all of my vintage Florsheim, Nettleton, Footjoy, LWH's are were purchased New Old Stock. (NOS)

But I went ahead and pulled the trigger on these Alfred Sargent "Boston" shoes out of their Country Collection. ($99.- delivered.)

They have not arrived yet but I am hopeful that the fit is satisfactory. I like the look,...

^^ The arrival of a Mercer and Sons shirt is always cause for celebration.
Hear! Hear! My wardrobe may not be vast, but it is awfully nice. Prior to my foray onto Noom about two years ago, my shirt stock was white, blue, pink, pink/white uni, and blue/white uni, all OCBDs. I am now within one shirt of replacing all five in my now significantly smaller size. The wait is always long but worth it. They make what I believe to be the all time best OCBD, even better than Brooks back in the day.

Navy Polo RL Polo Coat. I have wanted one of these for decades. Got it during the Friends and Family sale. A few other things too, including 2 pair of Peal shoes on ebay, NIB - 2 models I have always wanted - the tan Raywood loafer and the black monk. 2 pair of trousers from Cordings too, both single pleated w/ side tabs.

I have a question. The jacket I bought from J.Press is a 46L because I'm build a bit like a gibbon. The sleeves are fine but the coat is long. Now which is the most reasonable choice? Live with it, shorten the coat or send the coat back for a 46R and have the sleeves lengthened. It doesn't have working cuffs.

Ask your tailor which operation he/she is most comfortable performing. If he/she says it makes no difference, choose whichever is less expensive. I would observe that corduroy, being cotton, is likely to hold any creases. So all other things being equal, shortening the jacket may be safer than lengthening sleeves.

It can get pricey to have a jacket shortened or have sleeves lengthened.

Knowing that our normal tailor Hemarajani isn't available for this I have had very good experiences with these sisters located in downtown Portland. (They do alterations for John Helmer as well a Marios.)
