I got an email today that their Hertling trousers are 15% off. I know they were running a suit and sport coat sale this week. Not sure if trouser sale ends tomorrow or not.

I’ve done the damage already to the wallet

I think I got the same email. What caught my eye was the free trees + $75 Gift Cert with purchase of Alden. Damn you, O'Connell's. I thought the budget would be balanced this month.

Are these trousers the same quality as what you are getting at O'Connell's, Press, etc? I thought I read after the reorganization, their direct website product wasn't as good quality.
I bought two pairs of clearance wool pants through the website that were absolutely top quality. Then I bought three pairs of summer cotton chinos and they seem as good but noticeably thinner though they were substantially slimmer in size -- I had to get them let out and there was not a ton of material. I attributed that to the style/cut but am not sure. Maybe there was a bit of skimping going on.

Thankfully, I have dropped five pounds since then.

My theory is that the trousers at the Hertling Factory Outlet are generally overruns with leftover fabric from projects they did with other retailers and then made on Hertling's house cuts, so the quality of the fabric has more to do with whatever the retailer specified.

Keep in mind, I have absolutely nothing to back up my theory.
