Great news regarding one of the more frustrating aspects of O’Connell’s old website....a new website has launched which allows one to search by size. No more getting my hopes up seeing a coat or pair of trousers I loved only to see odd sizes were the only remaining inventory.

⇧ This will sound off, but I feel I haven't bought enough from O'Connell's as the few things that I have bought are outstanding, but I tend to forget to look at their site when I'm buying something.

That said, a few years ago, I emailed the them about buying a topcoat they were showing in size 40L. It wasn't in stock, so I asked if I could special order it for a premium or if they would order one for me when they restocked the following year.

They were nice, but said they couldn't do a special order, but if they re-ordered the coat the next year, they'd contact me and order a 40L. I sent them a reminder email a few months later and it was clear they had forgotten my request as they told me the orders for the next season were in and there was no 40L on the list.

They were always nice, but that made me give up on getting that topcoat from them.

Same here. And my order history going back to 2004. I hope they will restore that, or offer customers a download of their history.
Our purchasing histories are gone(!)? I'm not sure whether that is a curse or a blessing in disguise. The evidence of past indulgences may be gone and that could certainly be a blessing. LOL. ;)

I'm sincerely happy that so many are pleased with the new O'Connell's website.

But I HATE it!

I found the old site simple, intuitive with logical nested menus and lightning fast. As well as attractive. I frankly found it to be a paradigm of what I would like all retail clothing sites to be.

The new site is clunky and appears to be the latest version e-commerce that has more to do with what retailers want to sell, than what I necessarily want to buy. But lest I overstate my case, it's awful only in comparison to its former site, there are far worse!

But on my stuff the new site runs clunky, and slow. An example of what I'm describing occurred this morning when I wanted to browse their pocket squares. There's a button up top for pocket squares. Great! I clicked it then proceeded to watch a little circle in the top left corner of my screen revolve endlessly. OK, I'll do a search! So I start typing in pocket squares. Great, after a letter or two, up pops the description, "pocket squares!" Hopefully, I click it. And up pops 9 pages of belts, pants, bow ties, etc., and a few PS.

JEESH!!! 😭

Just called the Andover shop and was told that the new owners are trying to improve their website, which many of us will agree needed improvement. A salesperson said that they're hoping the website will be operational within two weeks. They're aware of the importance of the website's importance with the holiday season arriving and the shops are fully stocked.

This thread inspired me to visit the O'Connell's website, and to post here to include an actual link to that site:

I would like to interject a question as well. The "navy" colored sweaters appear in the pics, to my eyes at least, to have a deep violet hue. They are beautiful and I wonder if the photos are accurate with respect to the color. I wonder if the pink visible in the label isn't throwing my eyes off.
