New Suit With Open Sleeves Op needed

Hello, I purchased a very nice Hickey-Freeman suit from the hand tailored series, classic charcoal with a chalk stripe, the buttons need to be attached, is it a good idea to splurge for functioning buttons or should I simply have a tailor attach them normally. Should I choose the former option, does anyone know a good tailor in Brooklyn or lower Manhattan that is reasonably priced?
