While at a college campus recently I saw an Asian gentleman from the administrative offices wearing what looked like a Nehru suit. It was an interesting surprise. On this occasion it didn't remind me so much of the 60's as much as it looked sort of like a military uniform.
I later realized that the collar and styling of the jacket is similar to the uniform worn by the US Marine Corps. I think the suit was custom because it looked similar to the quality of other things I have seen made by Asian tailors. Does anyone know if there is a resurgence of this rather odd item of men's wear, of is this man a true eccentric? (In this particular instance he also happened to look a little bit like Mao.)
Here is a picture of a suit quite similar to the one I saw. The man I saw did not seem to be wearing a dress shirt underneath. Is there a special sort of shirt needed to wear under a suit like this?
