Mohair fabric

Hi.

I am wondering about contacting a tailor to make a mohair fabric suit. I am a little bit familiar with mohair/wool fabric. But do anybody have experience with mohair fabric where mohair is more then 60% of the fabric? Lora Piana has 56% mohair fabric. Burberry is selling some suits and tuxedos 60% mohair.

Tom Ford traded a 100% mohair fabric suit trousers until last year. The weight was 400. Does anybody know who is selling mohair fabric on this level?

I will be very happy for all responses. And is there something I need to know about this kind of fabric?

A few years ago I had a sport coat made up from Dormueil's Tonik book. 70% wool and 30% mohair. If I remember correctly the weight is about 340 grams.

I was looking to try something a little different fabric wise and I'm glad I did. The fabric has an attractive sheen, doesn't crease or wrinkle easily, and has worn well. You may want to give it a try.

About 20%-30% mohair and 70-30% wool mix is the best mix?
I try to avoid using the word "best" when describing things because the word is often open to interpretation and personal preferences.

That said, when going over mohair fabric books with my cutter, I found this particular fabric with the 70% to 30% ratio the best for me. The reasons are many but overall I found it to be a nice mix.

At the appointment, I did look over a fair number of books and also asked for my cutter's opinions. Based on all that, I would personally be hesitant to go higher than 50% mohair in a fabric.

Once again though, that's just me.
