Hey all. So where im located, its always hot and sunny.. at least 80 degrees minimum... more like late 80 degrees. There is a ton of sun. I haven't worn a hat/cap in like 15 years at least when I was younger. I wanted to just get a trucker cap like a john deere one but then i saw on amazon there are male beach hats which look pretty good.

Well i heard of fedoras a while back and i thought they did not look good. But for me, i want a hat/cap for sun protection. I was shocked that i check on amazon, lot of these beach hat fedoras provide sun protection which is what i want. Thus i don't really want to wear it for fashion statement, bu i want a hat that looks decent.

Thought on these 3 beach hat/fedoras? The first 2 are pretty cheap like 16 dollars only. The last one is 30 dollars and seem to have excellent reviews. They say the quality is so good compared to any cheap hats/fedoras. Also the first 2 i think is made of plastic but the 3rd one is made of straw.

Would you say best to get the 3rd one? Also i know this forum is guys who spend a lot of money on wardrobe such as for shirts and shoes so this is probably a drop in the bucket for most of you guys. But I assume lot of guys here spend over $100 or more on hats like this?

Another question I have is this. I never measured my head size before. I tried doing it with a string and it seems to be 22.5 cm and that is a medium. I will probably order the medium and large as well to see which one fits better.

For the colors, which looks best for a guy? I think either beige or white.. right? Other colors seem to look horrible.

There's a world of choices among hats like this, some of which can cost hundreds of dollars, so these are all comparatively inexpensive. But if I were selecting among these three hats, I'd definitely select the third. Looks a little more solid, plus, it's the best looking.

The first looks like it has more coverage for sun, ie. the brim is wider, am I wrong ?

You are in the Yucatan? I would think there would be some good local sources. Having said that, what I would think often turns out to be the furthest thing from the truth.

Thanks for responses. But if the 3rd one, is the beige color probably the best one? I think either beige or white. Well i figure this forum... most ppl here spend a ton of money on clothes so something as cheap as the ones i posted... are items many won't buy here because they are not good quality etc...

My choice would be hat #3 and I would opt for the beige color. I also recommend you consider saving for a $100 hat purchase. When you have that amount, buy yourself a Tilley's Endurable hat...perhaps the LT-5...as the hats you are considering are in all probability single season purchases. They will do an admirable job of protecting you from the sun's damaging rays that first year, but will be falling apart shortly thereafter. At least that has been my experience. Tilley's last a lifetime! ;)
