Howdy (from a longtime lurker but first time poster):

I am currently having a local tailor make me a quite sartorial three piece (2 button, notched lapels on the vest, yoked back trousers so I can start showing off my vintage Thurston brace collection). The fabric is a very luxe pinstripe Dormeil 120s, but the cutter didn't match the pinstripes at the top of the shoulders. I asked the tailor about this, and he said that they couldn't match the stripes because one shoulder was higher than the other.

Does this make sense? Have all the other pinstrip suits I have seen with perfectly matched pinstripes been made for customers with perfectly equal shoulders? I actually trust this tailor, and I think he does beautiful work (for example he didn't blench when I asked for hand stitched button holes), but I was curious to see what you thought.

Stumpy.
