I mistakenly purchased a long tie the other day that is not returnable. Plus I paid next to nothing for it.
Should I have it shortened or simply always tie it with a Windsor knot?
Can a regular tailor handle this sort of job or should it be sent to a professional?

I wish I could find more long ties. I'm 6'3 with a long torso so most regular ties have to be tied with at least a half windsor and then the knot is small, the small end of the tie is barely under the base of the knot, and it just doesn't look sharp. I've recently discovered you can lengthen a tie, which I plan on doing to all of my new regular length ties.
