I am heading to London for the long weekend and would like to know if anyone could recommend any Fabric sources (Wholesaler's) and any store's who sell Motif ties? (Emblematics!) This is my first trip so I would like to hit as many as possible.

I will be strolling Savile Row also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance!

Emblematic ties

I believe that Benson & Clegg on Piccadilly in London would be a good choice.
They sell Blazer Buttons as well as regimental and emblematic ties. If I am not mistaken, Ben Silver of Charleston once had a relationship with this company in London.
Hope you have a great trip.

It may also be worthwhile popping in to the main TM Lewin store on Jermyn street. I know they are gradually moving more mainstream but they definitely used to keep a list of available regimental ties though these will not be on display in the shop. The advantage is that if they have one of their sales on at the time the advertised discounts should also apply to the regimental stock. This was certainly the case when I was looking for an army tie a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the list will only have the names of the ties association rather than a picture so you need to know what to ask for.

Your Honor,

In London you'll find outdoorsy "Motif Ties" at the places that cater to the Countryside crowd. Try Cordings, Farlows, and any of the gunmakers in the West End, all whom now have clothing lines. (Holland and Holland, Purdey, etc) Be sure to pack a large bag of money.

Happy Shopping,

Scott

I second both Benson and Clegg and Cordings; wonderful places, even just to browse in!

While visiting Cordings, pop into Fortnum and Mason nearby, and pick up some of their wonderful tea and a pot of Gentleman's Relish (anchovy paste, and delicious!)

Have a *great* trip!
