It's a long story. Suffice it to say Robert Stolz's customer service is stupendous.

The Austrian Hunting Loden Coat I ordered arrived 2 weeks ago. The 40R was too large. So they sent out a 38R and 36R at no charge.

Some USPS difficulties and here I am with 5 coats, a 40R, 38R, 38S, and 2 36Rs.

Robert Stolz will send me a free return label for
The 4 I don't want.

How warm is the coat? It's currently 0° here in Rochester, although it's usually warmer. I wouldn't often wear the coat over a jacket but was thinking of ordering the one with the removable lining so in a pinch I could remove the lining and not look too bulky over a suit...

It seems warm as it’s very dense. But it’s at the tailor and I can’t say. The manufacturer claims his lined Shiver No More is the warmest coat he’s owned. I do not expect to ever wear this coat without at least a sweater underneath. It’s sized for layering and the style doesn’t appeal to me unless over layered knitwear or sports coats.

I have similar Loden coat from a different Austrian manufacturer and, wearing either a sweater or a sports jacket, my coat is good to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit if you're outdoors for an appreciable period of time. Zero degrees could be a bit of a brisk challenge.

^^Nice jacket....
and perfect timing with the purchase. I can't think of any other rig that would be more appropriate for wear when sitting down to enjoy the annual feast on corned beef, cabbage and red skin potatoes!

PS: Nice shoes from what I can see. ;)
