Where in Florida? People generally dress like slobs here these days. Super casual....even at nicer restaurants. I would wear what you feel comfortable in, within reason, and not worry too much about everyone else.
Late afternoon birthday party - Seersucker and such ...
Over the 4th of July weekend I will be attending a birthday party for a family member at a local FL restaurant. The party is due to start at 6:00 pm. I am planning on wearing a Blue Seersucker Jacket, Navy Chinos, White OCBD (either PPBD or other), probably repp tie and White Back shoes. Too much? Too late for that rig?

Come on, give our man Oldsport some credit! He meant to type white buck shoes.....not white black (or back) shoes. Autocorrect got him, I'd guess.I'd swap out the navy chinos for tan or stone ones and the black shoes for white or dirty bucks.

I'm sorry that my post somehow made you feel defensive. Not my intent.You are correct - I apologize, but in my head, when I first saw it, I read "black" shoes. My intent is not to nitpick or throw out cheap barbs as I think that diminishes the site.
