I just received email notification which describes Jack Donnelly's new fit as follows:

OUR M3 TAPERED IS INSPIRED BY THE CLASSIC IVY STYLE - WITH A LONG, TRADITIONAL RISE COMBINED WITH A SLIMMER THIGH & A NICELY TAPERED LEG. SITS HIGH ON THE WAIST / STRAIGHT HIP & THIGH / SLIMMER TAPERED LEG

This really sounds too good to be true! The last thing in the world I need is another pair of khakis, though I suspect curiousity will get the better of me and I'll order a pair.

Hopefully they have their act together. I ordered for the first time last year and it took me disputing the charge to get them to ship the trousers. They ignored every email I sent. I do like the pants, though. I think they are called M2 fit now.

I bought a pair back when it was called slim fit. Quality wasn't the best though, the crotch seam was misaligned (by about a centimeter).

As to JD's past customer service issues, a year or so ago (from memory) founder Gregg Donnelly had a sudden, unexpected illness and was hospitalized for an extended perior of time. When that happened, customer service was all but non existent. Jack Donnelly is a very small operation. I'd venture to say that Gregg might be the only customer facing person there.

I've not done business with them since the relaunch, though I plan to when the M3 tapered restocks. I wish them the best.

I like the sound of these but am hesitant to go for “slimmer in the thighs” as I’ve gotten quite used to, and enjoy, “relaxed” fitting seat and thighs. The tapered legs sounds good though.

Free shipping and returns makes me want to try them. No matter though, as they sold out anyway!
