Can anyone tell me who is making suits for J. Press under their Made to Measure program? I'd like to get one made this fall, and given what's happened to Brooks Brothers I feel like J. Press or William Fox is likely my best option.

The easiest way to figure it out is to go in to the store and ask. I have read S Cohen made some of their rack suits in a Canadian plant and that the Brooks Brothers factory in North Carolina was turning out some J. Press shirts.

Chevy Chase Custom Tailors did some extensive work on a couple of Oxxford and Ermenegildo Zegna suits for me a year or two ago. The tailor is older and idiosyncratic, but he trained at Oxxford in Chicago and does custom suits. The work on mine - recut the trousers, tailored the jackets, a few re-weaves of small moth holes - was impeccable. Might be worth a look.

Good call on Chevy Chase - used them for our wedding years ago and they were excellent

One was made at H Freeman (Baltimore) &
the other was made by Hickey (mfg at Rochester, NY).
There are very subtle differences/nuances - would be very hard for me to choose between the two.
My favorite is the doeskin blazer, it's the best RTW sack jacket available. The fabric is great & cut is absolutely perfect.
Here's a link, see the second pic for an idea of the shoulders. The shoulders are as soft as butter.

*I am not affiliated with any of the makers/retailers listed above.

Best,
OH

Good info! I know the H Freeman suit I tried on at O'Connell's a couple of years ago was fantastic. Good to see that's continued.

Forgot to check back, but at the end of the day I got a fantastic gray windowpane from Press's MTM. It was made by Hickey Freeman in Rochester (their other source is another factory in Montreal). Very traditional and excellent product.
