Italo Ferretti black silk suspenders with croc (?) leather tabs

Hi all!

I just purchased a set of Italo Ferretti silk suspenders for a black tie event, at my City’s most reputable Men’s furnishings high end retailer. I took the plunge and spent around $500.00 USD, since the tabs on these braces are supposedly cut from real croc leather.

However, upon close examination and after comparing said tabs to a Longhi belt I own, my instinct tells me that they are not really made out of croc.

I called the store and asked them to verify. They confirmed that the tabs’ leather is indeed genuine. Still, I have my doubts.

Any experiences you wish to share?
